Susanne Kutter beschäftigt sich in ihrer künstlerischen Arbeit immer wieder mit dem teilweise katastrophalen Verhältnis von Natur zu Kultur. Immer wieder beschäftigen Susanne Kutter auch Themen wie der Verlust von privater Sicherheit und Kontinuität im alltäglichen Leben. In diesem Zusammenhang reflektiert sie die Entwicklung der Rolle der Frau in der westlichen Gesellschaft und den fortschreitenden Verlust einer bürgerlichen Mittelschicht, die von Werten wie Kultur und Bildung geprägt wurde.

Susanne Kutter's work is often concerned with the catastrophic relationship between nature and culture. Again and again, Susanne Kutter is preoccupied with topics such as the loss of private security and continuity in everyday life Within this context she reflects on the changing role of women in western societies during the last few decades and the increasing disappearence of the middle classes, traditionally associated with educational and cultural values.
